Homestead Winter Giveaway with Mohawk Valley Trading Company and Crooked Brook

What do you imagine a homestead winter to be? I imagine it full of all of my favorite things: warm fuzzy blankets, a mug full of herbal tea, toasty slippers, and a good book. We don’t have snow here, but our winter overnight lows can get down into the 20s, which makes our little drafty home a bit chilly at times.

Homestead Winter Giveaway at The Mind to Homestead

This year in Southern California, we haven’t been having much of a cozy, cold winter. Rather, we’ve been having a spring-y winter, with lows in the 40s and highs in the 80s. I do love spring, so I don’t mind, but that means that I haven’t been able to enjoy all of the comforting winter habits that I am so accustomed to enjoying.

Perhaps where you live you are experiencing lovely white snow out your windows while you and your family spend your evenings enjoying a story together and hot cocoa near the fireplace.

Because I am not able to enjoy these lovely things due to our fabulous weather, I am giving away a fantastic prize pack that will help YOU enjoy winter and make it more cozy for you this year. Here’s what’s in it:

Two 50″ x 60″ Fleece blankets by Crooked Brook

These fabulous fleece blankets are a must for any winter night. Super soft and very warm, Todd and I used these blankets over the weekend to keep us warm while spending the evening outdoors at a friend’s home. I’m planning on making these fabulous blankets part of our evening outdoor plans from now on, especially in winter!

I have already washed one of the blankets and it washes up really well and remains very soft, with no pilling in the fabric.

From the Crooked Brook website:

Crooked Brook is a unit of the atelier division of an art studio that offers full service apparel design, pattern making, sample making, private-label small lot production and embroidery, which is the method of decoration they use to make personalized fleece blankets. Crooked Brook also offers blank wholesale fleece blankets by the case.

Fleece blankets (also called fleece throws) are made from Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or other synthetic fibers and can also be made out of recycled PET bottles or recycled fleece. They are lightweight, warm, soft, and hydrophobic; holding less than 1% of their weight in water which allows them to retain much of their insulating powers even when wet.

Fleece blankets are machine washable, dry quickly, are very breathable and will not lose their thickness when compressed; it does not matter if you crush, pull, twist or wad up the blanket it will come back to its original shape and thickness.

The prize for this Fleece Blanket Giveaway is two, 50″ x 60″, 100% polyester fleece blankets in the winner’s choice of color.

100% Pure Beeswax Candles by Mohawk Valley Trading Company

I absolutely love Mohawk Valley’s pure beeswax candles. They burn long, the wick tends not to burn away, and the candle wax hardens up nicely after the candle is blown out, leaving more of the candle to enjoy over time. The set that Mohawk Valley is offering this time around is a huge, fabulous, and well worth entering this giveaway for this set alone! Mohawk’s beeswax candles are handmade from 100% all natural, unbleached yellow beeswax, produced by their own bees in the USA.

Here’s what is included in the prize:
One, 2″ x 6″ 100% Pure Beeswax Pillar Candle
Two, 100% Pure Beeswax Votive Candles
Two, 100% Pure Beeswax Taper Candles
Six, 100% Pure Beeswax Tea Light Candles
Twelve, 100% Pure Beeswax Birthday Candles

Chamomile Tea and Mug

Just to top off these two fantastic prizes, I am adding 1 oz. of loose organic chamomile flower tea nestled in a lovely large black and white damask pattern mug. The perfect addition to an evening under a fleece blanket, reading by a lovely beeswax candle.

Here is one more peek at all of the lovely prizes in this prize pack!

Here I go again! LOL Most times I’m not in serious winter warm up needs as I live in Texas along the coast, but this winter is as strange here as it is everywhere else! Right now I’m toasting my toes over my space heater and getting ready to eat a bowl of clam chowder with crackers. That will keep me cozy till bedtime when I snuggle up in my quilt!
